Why Build Your Own Gaming Computer?

The best way to get the gaming computer you want, which will provide optimal performance is to build your own. If you think you have no technical knowledge or are unable to build a computer you are wrong. I was pretty sure I could teach my mother (who has a hard time working a VCR) how to build a computer. If you could plug the wiper into a wall socket and use a screw driver, you could build the computer too.

What Computer Manufacturers Don’t Want You To Know!

Manufacturers don’t want you to know how easy it is to build computers because they make their living selling complete computers. The truth is that manufacturers focus on selling computers with an overall low price tag in order to entice people to buy. They use the processor and software as the main selling points. In most cases other than the processor and maybe the graphics card you don’t know what components they actually use. Alienware is one of the rare exceptions. They tell you, for the most part, what component parts they use. However, this does not mean that it is the best component on the market. Every manufacturer gets regular visits from sales people assuring them they must use their product. Just because the company gives them the best deal on a power supply that allows them to increase their profit margins on the computers they sell doesn’t make it the best power supply. This often leads to an inferior use of the product for profit.

Advantages of Building Your Own Computer

By building your own computer, you can be sure of getting the highest quality because you have painstakingly researched each component. If you’ve ever wondered why your store bought gaming computers with top of the line graphics cards and ultra fast CPUs still have trouble running newer games, it’s likely because they stuck you with a lower power supply, cheap motherboard, insufficient RAM , and the list goes on. In my mind it made sense to build your own computer.

Warranty and Technical Support

If you’re worried about guarantees, you don’t have to. In most cases you can get a manufacturer’s warranty on every component you buy. As for technical support, I have had much better luck getting questions answered via friendly helpful forums on the internet than I have ever had from the technical support line. Not to mention that you don’t have to pay to sit on hold.

Painless And Fast Improvement

When you build your own computer upgrade is a snap. You’ve put them together so replacing a hard drive or changing a graphics card is a breeze. For example I recently upgraded my graphics card. It took me longer to unplug everything from the back of my tower than to swap out a graphics card. All in all I’m up and running with freshly installed drivers in about 10 minutes. If you’re impatient like me taking your machine to the store to have it upgraded it just isn’t worth the wait.
